Community Service
The people of Holy Apostles endeavor to be helpful and show the light of Christ in our community. Recently, many of our members helped with the construction of an affordable house for a family through Habitat for Humanity.
On a regular basis, food for those in need is donated to St. Vincent de Paul Society in Bloomington. The parish also assists at the Midwest Food Bank, a faith-based organization whose mission is to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world. Midwest Food Bank provides disaster relief for all, without discrimination. Parish members also spread Christmas cheer by singing carols at the McLean County Nursing Home during the holiday season.
Holy Apostles also anticipates helping Safe Harbor in Bloomington-Normal. Safe Harbor provides short-term emergency relief for homeless and low-income persons, including meals and support services.
